In 1973, a concerned and active community member, Bea Erickson, gathered seven key community members together with the common goal of creating a place where seniors on the coast could gather. The meeting was the culmination of over four years of exhaustive work by Bea: canvassing and interviewing her fellow seniors, learning about what their needs were and what activities and resources they were interested in.
Out of this dedication, the Bea Erickson Senior Center was born. Through the years it has been a place for creativity, companionship and community for many generations of seniors on the coast. Now known as Redwood Coast Seniors, it continues to be a bright, welcoming space where you can meet old friends or make new ones.
